Item: Vintage Hexagon Pillow Cover

Materials: I found this unusual six-sided pillow cover at a yard sale last summer. It's made up of 2-inch hexagon blocks in a Grandmother's Flower Garden pattern. Based on the fabric colors and patterns I'd estimate it dates to the 1930s. The back is a medium blue solid and has a 7.5 inch long slit with bound edges to enclose a pillow form. A round form would probably work best. The blocks are hand-pieced; the back was sewn to the front by machine. Not especially pretty, but unusual enough to be a collector's item and a good example of vintage fabrics from the period.
