Item: Embroidered Doily Pair

Size:9.5" wide x 12.5" long
Materials: There are two of these doilies, each exactly the same except that the flower basket design is flopped and the woman who embroidered them used two shades of green for the corner design (you can see this in the last photo). I'm not sure if these were doilies for the backs of chairs or dresser scarves. They have a crocheted trim sewn all around the edges and beautifully-worked embroidery in bright pink, yellow-gold, blue and green with a bit of black in the butterfly. Very good condition with no stains or wear. There are a couple if places on the edge where the crochet trim is coming loose—it just needs a few small slip stitches to reattach it. 1940s-50s. 100% cotton.
