This pretty sachet has been handcrafted from two vintage handkerchiefs. The first is white cotton with a lace edge and embroidered flowers in two shades of blue with olive green leaves; the thread used is very shiny. The second features coordinating blue crocheted edging. Both hankies are layered over a contemporary blue and white polka dot cotton fabric; this fabric is also used for the back. The layers are secured by two stacked vintage buttons—one white, one light blue. It measures approximately 4.5 inches square. 

Each of my sachets is filled with a mixture of French lavender buds and buckwheat hulls—the lavender for it's intense scent and the buckwheat for lightness (lavender can be expensive and heavy for shipping;  using buckwheat helps offset both these issues). Customers have told me that the scent lasts for years and years; just give them a squeeze to refresh the scent!

Use your sachet in your linen cupboard to repel moths but it's really too pretty to hide away. Lavender is renowned as a sleep aid so keep one on your bedside table for those nights when you're having trouble falling asleep.
