This Christmas-themed sachet has been handcrafted from two vintage handkerchiefs. The first is white cotton with embroidered holly leaves and berries in red and two shades of green. The second features coordinating red crocheted edging. Both hankies are layered over a contemporary cotton fabric with realistic holly leaves and berries; this fabric is also used for the back. The layers are secured by two stacked vintage buttons—one white, one red. It measures approximately 4.5 inches square.

Each of my sachets is filled with a mixture of French lavender buds and buckwheat hulls—the lavender for its intense scent and the buckwheat to make them a bit lighter for shipping. Use them to scent your linen cupboard and repel moths or keep it on your bedside table in case you have trouble falling asleep—smelling lavender is good for that. And the scent lasts for years, just give it a squeeze to refresh the scent.
