Custom Designs

People often see my pillows on blogs and web sites and write to ask if I do custom work. Yes, I do. In fact, one of my very first projects was to make a series of pillows from vintage handerkerchiefs that the customer had received from a favorite teacher back in the 50s!

So, how does it work? It all begins with your handkerchief or vintage item, of course, and you can be as involved in the design process as you want. Some customers tell me to do whatever I want, some want to see sketches first, most fall somewhere in between. Maybe you plan to display your pillow in a room that's mostly pink, or your favorite color is yellow, or you love polka dots. I'll work with you to get a result you're happy with.

Some past pillow designs are shown above. Your pillow, however, will be unique and one-of-a-kind. I can also make your handkerchief into a smaller sachet pillow; this works especially well with hankies that have pretty embroidery in just one corner or that have some damage that needs to be worked around.

Shipping costs are additional and will vary by the weight of your order.​ A 50% deposit is required before design and production begins.
